We’ve got a bit of news.
From now on, if you’re ordering takeout or delivery from us, you’ll be doing it directly through our own system—not via Deliveroo or Uber Eats.
We’ve decided to bring it all in-house.
Here’s why we’re doing it, what it means for you, and how to order going forward.
Why We’re Making the Change
Honestly, it’s something we’ve been thinking about for a while.
The big delivery platforms helped us reach more people, especially during lockdowns and those tough first months. And for that, we’re grateful. But as things settled, a few issues kept cropping up.

- They take a big cut. Sometimes up to 35% of each order. That’s a chunk. Especially for a small, independent restaurant that cooks everything from scratch.
- Less control over quality. Once the food leaves our kitchen, it’s out of our hands. But if it arrives cold or late, we’re still the ones you associate with the experience.
- Disconnected service. We couldn’t chat with you directly or fix things quickly if something went wrong. That’s not how we like to do things.
So, we’re simplifying it. You’ll now order straight from us, through our website.
What Stays the Same?
- Same food
- Same chefs
- Same kitchen
- Same packaging
- Same delivery area
Nothing changes on that front.
You’ll still get the same dishes you know and love, delivered to your door or ready to collect. The only difference is where you place the order.
What’s New?
Well, for starters, it’s all handled by us now.
You’ll order directly from our site. You’ll get confirmation from us. And if there’s an issue—whether it’s a missing dish or a delivery question—you’re speaking to our team, not a third party.

That means better communication, fewer mistakes, and quicker fixes when things occasionally go sideways.
It also means no more delivery and other fees going to these platforms. Which helps us—and lets us keep prices fair.
How to Order
Simple:
- Go to thethai.uk
- Tap or click Order Online
- Choose your dishes
- Select delivery or collection
- Pay securely
- Done
We’ll cook it, pack it, and either hand it over at the door—or bring it to you ourselves using local drivers who know the area.
Supporting Local Means Ordering Local
When you use our in-house system, you’re supporting us directly. There’s no middleman. No hidden charges. Just you and us—how it should be.

It means we can keep doing what we do, pay our team fairly, and spend more time focusing on food rather than fighting algorithms.
So, if you’ve ordered from us before via the apps, thank you. Truly. Now we’d love for you to make the switch with us.
Order direct. Support local. Eat well.
We’ll handle the rest.
